Midwest Simon Community collaborates with An Mhodhscoil requesting a Donations Wishlish of items that can be dropped off by students and parents to the Primary School on O’Connell Avenue, Limerick on Thursday 10th and Friday 11th June, in aid of the homeless and those in food poverty in Limerick.  The items on the Wishlist are; Food Items to include; porridge pots, pot noodles, spaghetti hoops, boil in the bag rice or microwaveable rice, cereal/protein bars, small bottles of drinks; water juice, minerals.  Mid West Simon are also requesting Household Items, such as; toilet paper, washing powder and washing up liquid.  And lastly, they are looking for Toiletries to include; shampoo, conditioner, toothpaste, dental floss, deodorant, baby wipes and nappies.

CEO of Mid West Simon Community, Ms. Jackie Bonfield said “Mid West Simon are delighted and very grateful to An Mhodhscoil for arranging these Donations at their Primary School.  Since 2019 the demand for our Food Bank has consistently increased and on average 60% of all the Food Bank users are children.

A representative from An Mhodhscoil added, “We are pleased to assist with collecting Food, Household Items and Toiletries for those experiencing food poverty, which is accelerated by the current pandemic. We urge parents, teachers and students to donate what they can, thank you.”

So, when you are dropping off your children to school, please donate if you can from the ‘Donations Wishlist’ to An Mhodhscoil next Thursday 10th & Friday 11th June.  Midwest Simon Community will collect all items and distribute them to those in need.  Every donation helps and will make life easier for individuals and families in Limerick and Mid West Simon Community really appreciate each and every donation. All donations that are raised locally stay local.
