-The role involves managing a particular area, village or town. This is in the Mid West Region, Limerick, Clare & North Tipperary. – Keeping a regular check on the existing boxes and replacing when required.
– Work on your area sheet and try to approach and place new boxes in local shops, pubs, businesses etc.
– We pledge to collect, replace and resolve any YHB query in a week and with the support of our wonderful volunteers have been successful so far.
– Any collected YHB has to be dropped to the head office as soon as possible, ideally the next day. However, the role is very flexible and you can manage and collect the boxes working around your schedule, work from home and liaise with the team via email or phone.
Our team will provide a detailed area sheet and all the office support.
No specific skills or qualifications are needed, however being a good communicator and confident in approaching others would be desirable. As the role is flexible you will need to be able to manage your own time to enable you to undertake the volunteering role.
Training/support: You will be required to attend a 2 hour induction into the Mid West Simon Community, these run on a half yearly basis. You will be offered a briefing and support from the events and fundraising team.
Time Commitment: The role is very flexible and can be worked around any existing activities you may have. We do not set a time limit on this role but we would expect you to be in contact with the team at least once a month.
Volunteers need to be aged 18 or over for this role. You will need to fill in one of our volunteer application forms and then we will invite you in for an informal interview. We will also require you to provide us with two references and complete a Garda Vetting Form
