SUMMARY:Rise Together
DESCRIPTION:We are requesting your support for our annual Corporate Sleep Out in Thomond Park to raise much needed funds to cover the cost of operating our Foodbanks throughout the region. When families\, students\, the unemployed\, people on low incomes are struggling\, food is the flexible item. They can’t cut-back on rent/mortgage/utility payments. Food is where they cut. During 2016 we distributed 56 Tonnes of food\, which equals to 126\,944 meals for 5\,804 people\, 3050 were children. \nClick to view our  > iDonate page <  and support our participants \n\nABOUT THE EVENT\n\nWe need your help to continue providing this service and ask you to raise €2\,500 and join us in Thomond Park on the 18th of November. We know it’s a lot\, we will offer support to raise the money. We will set you up on our sponsorship page on idonate.ie which you can share among friends and family. We will also send you a donation card in your registration pack. Participants from last year also raised funds through the Corporate Social Responsibility function in their companies or by hosting coffee mornings\, bake sales etc. in their workplaces and at home. \n  \nON THE NIGHT \nThe event is hosted by Munster Rugby Hooker\, Duncan Casey\, with special guests. Once participants have been welcomed\, we are delighted to offer them a once in a life time opportunity! A chance to put one between the posts in a fun place kick shootout with the winner taking home a prize sponsored by the Clayton Hotel! \nParticipants will then join us in the Press Room.  There will be a presentation from Dr. Amy Erbe Healy –  Dr. Healy received her MA and PhD from the University of Limerick for sociological research analysing food expenditure and socio-economic status.  She has published articles on food expenditure patterns in Ireland and other European countries and on food-related practices and their implications for health and exclusion for the elderly.  Currently\, she is employed as the Postdoctoral Research Fellow for the Irish European Social Survey\, Round 8 at Mary Immaculate College.  Her book\, co-authored with Professor Michael J. Breen\, is called Changing Values\, Attitudes and Behaviours in Ireland:  An Analysis of European Social Survey Data in Ireland\, 2002 – 2012. \nOf course there will be time for refreshments and networking too. With all the social aspects taken care of we settle in for the night in the Tunnel — sleeping bags\, pillows\, thermos flasks etc. on hand.  After a warming cuppa the following morning you’ll be ready for home by 8.00am—feeling happy after having done something so good for a truly worthy cause. \nAll Funds raised stay in the Mid West Region and go directly to the Foodbank service. \nThere is very limited availability for this event. \n  \nTHIS YEARS PARTICIPANTS & SUPPORTERS \n \n  \nPat Brown – Managing Director at Aire Safety Training & Consultancy ltd \n“We feel it is so important to support Mid Wet Simon in their fundraising endeavours.
